WWW Wednesday – What I’m Reading – 1 More Book to Go for Goodreads!

One More Book to Go in my Goodreads Challenge!!

I was a book and a half short in my 2015 Goodreads challenge and I forget how bitter I was about not completing it until I neared the end for this year. 60 books may not seem a lot for some people but it may seem like too much for some. Whatever your reading speed, I recommend signing up to Goodreads and doing a challenge. I love to look back on the books I’ve read – it’s great for end of year lists or to recommend books to others.

Here’s the link to my Goodreads year so far if you’re interested. 2016 challenge

On to this week’s WWW – What I’m Reading…

WWW WednesdayThis meme is hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words. A similar meme, This Week in Books is hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found.

Why not join in? Just answer the following three questions about what you’re reading in a post and then put a link to that post in the Comments over at Taking on a World of Words.

The questions are:

 What I’m Reading…

all-played-outWith just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay… Scratch that. She knows she hasn’t had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a “to do” list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it’s impossible to get hurt… again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she’s never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he’s willing to take the chance when it’s more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

Going for quick and easy here, with a side of fun!

What I Read…

beautiful-290x450After walking in on her boyfriend shagging another girl in their place, Pippa Bay Cox ditches London for the States to go on a drunken road trip with Ruby Miller and some of her Beautiful friends.

Scaling the career ladder is the default way to deal with heartbreak—and to just deal—for Jensen Bergstrom. Absolutely buried by his drive and workload, he rarely takes time for himself. But when his sister Hanna convinces him to join the gang on a two-week wine tour, he has a rare moment of cutting loose. Of course, it’s only once he’s committed that he realizes the strange girl he met briefly on the plane is coming along, too. She might be too much for him…or he might realize his life has become too small and needs her to make it bigger, crazier.

With this circle of friends, there’s always something going on: from Chloe and Sara’s unexpected personality swaps to Will’s new domestic side to Bennett’s text message barrage and George’s own happily-ever-after. In short, their adventures in love, friendship, and hilarity are nothing short of Beautiful.

This is part of the Beautiful Bastard series and I should really read the other books some day. It’s one of those funny and sexy NA series that you know exactly what to expect when you go in. A quick, light read with lots of sex and the predictable happy ending.

chemistBlurb – She used to work for the U.S. government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn’t even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning.

Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They’ve killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

When her former handler offers her a way out, she realizes it’s her only chance to erase the giant target on her back. But it means taking one last job for her ex-employers. To her horror, the information she acquires only makes her situation more dangerous.

Resolving to meet the threat head-on, she prepares for the toughest fight of her life but finds herself falling for a man who can only complicate her likelihood of survival. As she sees her choices being rapidly whittled down, she must apply her unique talents in ways she never dreamed of.

This my Goodreads review: I’m giving this a 3.5. I feel sympathy for the fans of Stephenie Meyer. She’s obviously trying something new with The Chemist – no vampires, werewolves or aliens. They might be disappointed by this latest forays, but I was pleasantly surprised. Alex/Juliana is no Bella. Yes, she falls for Daniel a little too quick, but it works. The story is a little slow to start, but it quickly picks up and some parts are non-stop action. I feel like I want to give Meyer’s a pat on the back – good job for trying something new!

What I’ll Read next…

Good question! Here are my choices for what might be the last book I read in 2016. It might not be, but with getting ready for Christmas right around the corner, and a trip to Mexico to pack for, my reading time will be limited. Of course, I have a week on the beach to look forward to as well so the rest will be packed to read there!

What do you think I should end the year off with?
